Bill's Lake 1 The lake contains huge carp to over 58lb along with giant catfish to over 120lb+. We also have grass carp to over 47lb and sturgeon to 30lb+. The lake is 14 acres with 15 swims giving ample room for a maximum of 10 anglers. Bill's Lake 2the stock in this lake is enormous with 250 Carp, 20 Catfish, 2 Sturgeon, numerous Grass Carp and 6 Koi Carp with a lake record carp of 47lb+. The lake is 3½ acres and bordered on 3 sides by mature trees with an average depth of 3 meters. On Bill’s Lake 2 there is a fully equipped caravan included in the price which includes a double hob, fridge and somewhere to sit and eat in comfort plus there is a separate portaloo cabin.

Bill's Lake 3Fish stocks are very high in this lake with the average stamp of fish being a little smaller than the other 2, however, there is a very large head of 30lbs+ fish and a few surprise 40lbs+ too! It is 8 acres in size and has an average depth of 3.5 meters. The swims are set along one bank with the facing bank being out of bounds. This causes a natural haven for the fish with multiple catches coming from its’ margin.

In each lake the fish are in pristine condition with regular stocking taking place where needed each year. As the lakes are now well established the fish are getting huge with massive weight gains being recorded in all 3 lakes.{rokcomments}

Description: If you like to combine your carp fishing with trying for monster catfish then take a good look at the Windmill complex. There are two lakes, are around 4 acres, one full of specimen carp and the other offering some serious Cat fishing.  Lake: The lakes are extremely attractive, surrounded by a plantation of poplar trees giving a feeling of total seclusion. The Carp lake has an island and is made up of secluded bays around the perimeter. There are no designated pegs and you can bivvy up wherever you like. It has overhanging trees and reed lined margins with lily pads in several areas.

 Stock: There are around 120 mirrors and commons to 43lb+, plus 22 grass carp to 41lb. The Cat Lake also has a long island with plenty of overhanging trees giving good cover. The cats go to 80lb+ and there’s also a good head of carp of all sizes up to 35lb… so don’t neglect this lake if you’re after the carp.

 Facilities: If you hire the venue exclusively you also get the use of a lovely lakeside cabin sited just 15m from the Carp Lake. Description: Etang du roivre is a fifteen acre lake set in our own 33 acre estate which in turn is situated in the middle of the renowned, beautiful Burgundy region of France. The lake is over three hundred years old and has only been fished since we bought it in early 2002 before which it had been kept as a nature reserve. It is now a French carp fishing holiday venue with a superb stock of very big fish

Lake:  We have cut 20 level swims around the lake but limit the numbers of anglers to a maximum of 12 per week. This ensures that there are always empty swims to move to if you need to or for stalking during the day. The bed of the lake is composed of clay and clean, non-smelling silt. The hard sandy clay shoulders stretch out for twenty to thirty yards and the water depth ranges from three feet immediately in front of each swim to six or seven feet in the middle The reason that the silt is not the normal black, smelly kind is that the lake is teeming with blood worms, cadis fly larvae and literally thousands of swan mussels which are filter feeders and the reason for “clean Silt”.

Stock: We can accurately forecast the likely spring results for 2010 as we are carrying out a drain down for the autumn of 2009. We are confident that these will show at least 130 different thirties plus a further 40 of over 40 lb with a current lake record of 56.07 lb. On top of these we have exactly 49 catfish to well over 100 lb. During 2009 we have so far seen 125 forty pound plus carp landed as well as 591 thirties. The total captures this year have recorded over 52% as being over 30.00 lb and we are expecting these figures to easily be eclipsed during 2010.Facilities: On one corner of the lake we have constructed a dining lodge which is based on a small “English country pub.” It has a log fire for the colder months and it is where English breakfasts and evening meals (included within the price) are served and where beers and wines are available. Location:  Nearest town is Vitry le Francois in the Champagne Ardenne department of the Marne

Description:  There are two ancient lakes, one at two plus acres and the main lake at 21 acres but only about 15 acres available as the lake narrows. Both lakes were originally dug by the Cistercian monks and were recorded in the 15th century by Thierry Casseni who was a French cartographer. The local abbey is now ruined but can still be visited. There is abundant wild life as you would expect and an atmosphere that is quiet and calming. We are planning a drain down at the end of the year as we do not know what the original stock totals are. We stocked the lake in 2007 but frequently see the original wild fish caught.Stock:  Mirror Carp over 30lb are common occurrence, with a good chance of a 40lb+ specimen always on the cards. Description: Forest view is a 6 acre lake in the south west region of France .It is set in 20 acres of its own forest surrounded by another 80 acres of national forest. It has been described as the most stunning lake in the area. Petit Pretre Location: The Little Priest (Petit Pretre) carp fishing lakes are situated in the Champagne Ardennes region of France just a 4 hour drive from Calais.Website : www.petitpretre.com

Description: The lakes date back over 400 years when they were occupied by Monks – hence the name.  They are referred to as Cassini lakes since they were first recorded during the reign of Louis XV who commissioned Ceasar-Francois Cassini of the famous cartographer family to produce detailed maps of France which listed Petit Pretre. Today Petit Pretre consists of 3 main lakes plus a small stock lake set in a mature 52 acre woodland setting offering a quiet and secluded location. 

Stock: The main lake is about 7.5 acres which was excavated in 2007/08 with over 2 ton of common and mirror carp added weighing in at 30 to 50 lbs. The Gun Lake (our 2nd lake) is 5 acres and is being prepared now to be opened in spring 2010.  It will also be stocked with a range of carp weighing to 50 lbs.

Location: Beausoleil is a quiet secluded lake set in the gentle rolling countryside of the Bretagne region of Northwest France, about one and a half hours drive from the port of St.Malo.

Description:You and your party (maximum 4 people) will have exclusive use of the private lake and house, and once you have closed the gates it really is a different world.

The estate type lake itself is set in 6 acres of lovely managed grounds and boasts a fantastic variety of wildlife including kingfishers and red squirrels which abound on the island and around the lake itself.

The 4 acre lake has depths from 2-6 feet with the weedy shallows being spanned by a wooden footbridge over to the shady tree covered island.

Description:Lac du villefond is a mature 8 acre carp lake, and has been a fishery since the 1930’s; in 2008/09 it has been open to the public. It has access all the way around, with 8 purpose built swims including one double. There are over hanging trees and shrubs ideal for stalking and great to fish too. There is a tree lined island reachable from most swims and plenty of snag free open water. The bottom is hard clay with minimal silt. The fish are fed on our high protein pellet all through the winter so the fish have many months of unpressured feeding. To ensure a high nutritional value in the bait used we do require all pellet to be brought on site this is primarily to ensure the fish grow at a consistent rate and remain fit healthy as well as hard fighting. The pellet used has been the fish's main food source since they were stocked in the lake and the catch results using this pellet are best described as prolific. This pellet can be paid for when booking the lake or on an as when needed policy once you have arrived.

Stock:The water is rich with natural food and holds in addition to the original fish which go to 30+ including a couple of very large koi carp, a stocking of 200 carp over the 20lb mark. The 200 carp stocked include mainly mirrors with some leathers and some commons including the lakes largest carp stocked at 48lb! Along with the carp stocking, catfish to 66lb were stocked and sturgeon too over 30lb! Also there are coarse fish and large pike in the lake.

Description:Twin Lakes Caravan Park is a picturesque English family owned site set in the region of Charente-Maritime, France. We cater for those seeking a quiet and restful holiday in rural France away from the hustle and bustle of every day life.

The caravan site has two fishing lakes. The top lake, which is set in, the wooded area is mainly for experienced fishermen, with Carp at 20lb plus. A small daily fee is charged for this and all catches must be released. In May 2005 within 3 hours one of our guests bagged a total catch of 140lb. He was so pleased with the fishing on site he booked again for later in the year bringing the whole family for a holiday in France.

If you wish to go fishing in France, you are required to obtain a fishing permit from the local fishing tackle shop a short drive away in Montendre. There are lots of ideal locations for day fishing in Charente Maritime, which we are more than happy to help with.

The bottom lake is of mixed fish and is free of charge to all guests in our mobile homes. Again our policy is catch and release. The lake is an ideal spot for eating out at night on the island where picnic benches are set aside for such activities (how romantic).

Description:A beautiful holiday park for the family in the heart of France.

There are three lakes on the park and all three are well stocked with fish. The main lake is approx three acres in size although a little harder to fish than the other two if you set your stall up right be it for the big one or bag up a good days fishing is there to be enjoyed. The main lake has its own fishing platforms to fish from and they circle a small island.

The two small lakes are very active making them ideal for beginners or children. These lakes are surrounded by trees and hedges with picnic areas. Although the sun still shines on the two lakes there are some nice shaded areas which can be a relief from the heat at the height of the season.

We have a selection of tackle and bait for sale and rods/reels etc. can be hired for the day.

Facilities:There are a number of facilities to enjoy ensuring there is something for all ages,. Swimming, fishing, mini golf, adventure playground, pony rides, French boule, and beautiful walks around the lakes.

There is a restaurant/clubhouse with food and drinks,darts,pool table, cable TV and outside BBQ garden. We also have a function hall ideal for group booking for meetings or private parties. When booking the hall we also include the Beergarden and BBQ area.

The Mini Golf course is set beside the Cafe/Bar and the Swimming Pool and offers an excellent opportunity for an Anglo French Challenge,. the animation on the left features your possible French opponents...

The swimming pool is always within sight of our outdoor seating area to allow to to keep a close watch on the children. It is also located close to the Cafe/Bar where they can top up with liquids on those long hot summer days,.. The Cafe also stocks a selection of English products known to the children to make them a little more comfortable.{rokcomments}

Location: Situated in the heart of the Brittany countryside only an hour and a half drive from the port of St.Malo, three hours from Caen and three and a half hours from Cherbourg.

Description:Open April to October inclusive. A five acre stream fed Lake with depths near the source of three feet and at the dam end over twelve feet. The Lake is situated on private agricultural land so no permit is required and night fishing is legal. At the shallow end the lake bed has a sandy bottom with large sandbanks along the far, tree-lined margin and deeper pockets towards the near-side bank. The Lake then runs through a large lily bed in front of the cabin and as the lake deepens towards the dam end the lake bed becomes silty.

Stock:Stocked in 2002 with over 100 fast growing Italian strain Carp a few of which are now topping the 35 lb mark whilst the majority remain in the low to mid teens and a few in the mid twenty bracket. All are hard fighting fish and a pleasure to catch. The lake also contains fifty Catfish varying in size from mid teens to around 50 lbs . There is also a large head of Pike running to 20 lbs or more. These now compliment the existing stock of Carp some of which in 2002 weighed in the low teens. The lake also contains plenty of good sized Perch and Roach. NO poisson chat.

Facilities:The chalet contains a few basic comforts in the form of cooking and washing facilities, a small fridge, food storage cupboards, table, chairs and a set of bunk beds (bedding not supplied). There is an adequate collection of pots, pans, crockery and cutlery. In a separate outhouse there is a fully flushing English style toilet and shower.
