You can expect depths of 1 to 7 feet, most of which is silt with gullys and plateaus. Gravel areas, bars and weed beds are there for you to find and fish.The surroundings are all left as natural as possible with a wide selection of trees and bushes, grasses and shrubs that make the Main Lake a very picturesque lake to fish. Lake: Carp Quarry is a very old deep granite quarry which closed in 1938 and now fills from underground springs. This 3 acre lake truly is one of the most unusual stunning fishing venues in France. To the far side of the lake rising from the water are 100 ft granite cliffs which are home to many birds of prey. The swims are along one side of the lake which have been excavated to make large comfortable swims where it is possible to cast over to the overhanging trees on the cliff face opposite. The lake which is set in its own grounds has a large lockable gated entrance. You can park your car within the lake complex giving you total privacy. No permits are required and fishing is permitted day and night. We recommend 4 persons fishing but can accommodate up to 6. The lake is very deep with mainly a rock and gravel bottom with a few silty areas.

Stock: We have just stocked in excess of a ton of fish supplied by a local fish farmer in the winter of 2008. The smallest of these fish being 23lb up to the mid 40's with the average fish being nearly 30lb. These are the quick growing large framed royal strain mainly mirrors with a few common, to complement the existing fish stocks. The lake was stocked with carp and trout by the previous owner in 1995 but was only fished for trout up until the year 2000, since then it has been left untouched. The lake dates back to 1938 when it stopped production as a quarry. It holds a good head of wild carp as well as the original mirrors and commons which we know very little about but have heard stories about monster commons. We have seen one of them that looked in excess of 50lb, so the lake may produce one or two surprises. There are also very nice trout, rudd and perch with the odd large pike. There are crayfish in the lake but these do not cause a problem to the fishing as the large carp eat them as soon as they appear.

Facilities: The accommodation is a detached 3 bedroom house situated 150yrds up the road from the lake (just a 2 minute walk), you can park at the gite and also at the lakeside. All 3 bedrooms have twin beds, there is a well equipped kitchen/diner with washing machine dishwasher cooker microwave fridge freezer etc and a large separate lounge with large log burner, tv/dvd and a bait fridge freezer. Mill Lake is our flagship lake and it is heaving with big carp! Lake Cadouzan is set up for those that like loads of big carp action! Restocking began in 2005, when we introduced over 400 big carp mainly mid to upper twenties and thirties and 40's were stocked and they are growing fast!, biggest carp in 2009 52lbs followed by a nice 51lbs mirror and a good number of 40's and loads of upper 30's it keeps most anglers bite alarms singing! 17 acres of rich stream fed lake with a few Lilly beds in some of the best looking and most tranquil surroundings in France. Lake Lezay is a true big fish venue where the likelihood of catching a whacker carp of 30, 40 or 50lb exceeds the chances of catching 20s because of the ratio of big carp in the lake. This water is by no means a pushover though as some of the carp are wise old lumps and the anglers that put in the most effort reap the best rewards, some of the catches here have been phenomenal! like Ashley who banked 10 big forties during his week or Gary who had 6 forties and a fifty pound carp plus others. Its not just a big carp water though, it also has a number of large catfish (silure) to 110 lbs and one huge diamond back sturgeon (named Mervin) who now weighs over 105 lbs! Description: Beausoleil is a quiet, beautifully secluded exclusive use lake set in the Bretagne region of northwest France. It is about 1 hour 30 minutes drive from the port of St Malo. Close by are the historic towns of Laval and Vitre and everything else that the region of Brittany has to offer. Fishery has a mature 4 acre estate-type lake set in six acres of beautifully managed grounds. There is a fantastic variety of wildlife, including kingfishers, wrens and red squirrels which abound on the island, and around the lake itself. The lake has depths ranging from 2 - 6 feet; the shallows are spanned by a wooden footbridge to the shady tree-covered island. The lake is a tree-lined brimming with large carp and catfish, as well as many specimen coarse fish. Amongst the mature trees are seven clearly marked out swims giving ample room to set up their bivvies. The home swim and the double swim have large A Frame picnic tables. Description:You and your party (maximum 4 people) will have exclusive use of the private lake and house, and once you have closed the gates it really is a different world.

The estate type lake itself is set in 6 acres of lovely managed grounds and boasts a fantastic variety of wildlife including kingfishers and red squirrels which abound on the island and around the lake itself.

The 4 acre lake has depths from 2-6 feet with the weedy shallows being spanned by a wooden footbridge over to the shady tree covered island.

Stock:It boasts around ten 40lb plus carp with the current best at 45lb, with approximately 50 carp over the 30lb barrier and to top this off it also holds over 200 20lb plus carp.

Description:Open April to October inclusive. A five acre stream fed Lake with depths near the source of three feet and at the dam end over twelve feet. The Lake is situated on private agricultural land so no permit is required and night fishing is legal. At the shallow end the lake bed has a sandy bottom with large sandbanks along the far, tree-lined margin and deeper pockets towards the near-side bank. The Lake then runs through a large lily bed in front of the cabin and as the lake deepens towards the dam end the lake bed becomes silty.

Stock:Stocked in 2002 with over 100 fast growing Italian strain Carp a few of which are now topping the 35 lb mark whilst the majority remain in the low to mid teens and a few in the mid twenty bracket. All are hard fighting fish and a pleasure to catch. The lake also contains fifty Catfish varying in size from mid teens to around 50 lbs . There is also a large head of Pike running to 20 lbs or more. These now compliment the existing stock of Carp some of which in 2002 weighed in the low teens. The lake also contains plenty of good sized Perch and Roach. NO poisson chat.

Facilities:The chalet contains a few basic comforts in the form of cooking and washing facilities, a small fridge, food storage cupboards, table, chairs and a set of bunk beds (bedding not supplied). Description:Le Beau Lacs (Etang de Muez) is a very pretty lake set in its own 35 acre grounds in Brittany, just two hours from the ferry port of Caen. In contrast to the majority of venues in this part of Brittany, which are typically of only 2 to 5 acres in size, Le Beau Lacs is a much larger, mature lake that dates back over 300 years - it's a beautiful 27 acre, lily fringed water set in the rolling countryside of Ile et Vilaine. It was originally created in the early 1700's and is surrounded by oak and poplar trees that are themselves hundreds of years old. The venue is open to a maximum of ten anglers but is also suitable for groups of four or five anglers when offered for exclusive bookings. Le Beau Lacs has English owners, Ian Muir and Geoff Ward. They purchased the property in 2004 and have since stocked it with common and mirror carp to 30lb+. Geoff and Ian are both keen carp anglers, Geoff having run a tackle shop in the UK... both will be only too pleased to assist visiting fishermen.

Stock:Approx 300 commons and mirrors, to 44lb, catfish to 20lb and some koi. Plus a good original stock to 40lb+

Facilities:There's a shower and toilet facility outside the main house which is for anglers use. Full food package available (please ask for details).
