Description: The Le Queroy lakes date back hundreds of years and when we first moved to the property centuries of silt was suffocating the waters, stunting the growth of the fish. Over the next two years we cleared the silt and revitalised the waters. We then re-introduced the best of the strains - rare long-bodied mirrors with the most amazing scale formations, a silver strained variety and finally a golden bellied deep bodied Italian strain.

Stock: Most of the fish in the main lake are 30 - 45 lbs (mirrors, leather and common carp) but there are some mirrors to nearly 50 lbs. There are also 14 grass carp to 40 lbs. These are fast, powerful fish to land. There is one catfish of around 80lbs. The lake covers some 5 acres and is 3.25 metres at its deepest point. There are 8 swims and three of these can comfortably take two bivvies. A second smaller lake of 1.25 acres currently contains a handful of specimen carp to almost 60lbs and one 40lb catfish. We have also a new larger lake which has been stocked but which is not open yet for fishing.

Facilities: When you stay here we want you to feel spoilt. The Lodge is decorated in a cosy, comfortable country house style using original prints, antique and reproduction furniture and stylish lighting. There are three twin bedrooms. Each bedroom has its own design style and decorative scheme. Each has its own bath/shower room. The kitchen has every modern convenience to make your self-catering stay trouble free. Description: The use of boats is allowed on the lake as long as life jackets are worn and that the boat is used in a safe and responsible manner. Boats supplied with oars and lifejackets are available for hire. There plentiful supply of electric engines available for  the boats which comes with two fully charged leisure batteries. The use of bait boats is also allowed. 

Fishing is not allowed from the North bank which means that you will not have anyone fishing from the opposite bank. The swims have for the year (2007)  have undergone extensive work, making them spacious, safe and clean as too have the paths and roads. Lake: This 27 acre lake is the first in a series of six. The Lake is up to 160 yards wide and over 900 yards long. Depths vary from 3 feet to 20 feet with the majority of the lake bed being clay or gravel. There are a number of weed beds mainly around the bars and margins. Fishing tight to these weed beds produces good catches

Stock: Following the restocking in 2003'4 we successfully introduced a further 1 ton of Carp up to 62 lbs. have in 2007. This pushes the the current stock levels to over 400 carp, half of which are in excess of 30lbs. A further Half ton of carp has been added in 2008 with a70lb Catfish.

Facilities:  Chef de Ville has recently purchased the house next to the entrance gate to the fishery. The property has a large basement which has been converted into a large dining area. There is also a new shower room with two showers, two toilets and hand basin.

A large breakfast and evening meal will be served in the dining area or it can be brought to your swim by request.

Our recently renovated ancient longere with its own two acre carp lake set in eight acres of French pastures is ideally suited for families and small parties looking to achieve this.

The Lake: Two acres in size, set in eight acres of meadow, damned at one end the lake is fed by many underground springs. It is lined with Willows, Silver Birch, various shrubs and Iris Reeds. At the damn end the depth is about ten feet, going back to four feet at the house end. The far bank is meadow with Iris Reeds along the margins.There are four swims on the lake, all being on the near bank. The lake bed is made up of gravel and sand and a little silt at the shallow end. The lake was de-silted in 2002 when 8000 tons of silt was removed. There is a small patch of lilies in the middle of the lake. All the swims are gravel based for your comfort.

The lake is virtually snag free, but we recommend a minimum of 12lb breaking strain line. The fishery is suited for 3 anglers, each with a three rod set up.We stock Nutrabaits 'Trigga', and a selection Dynamite Baits product, also pellets and seeds which can be pre-ordered. There is a small rowing boat available for your use if you require it. (use at your own risk).

No permits are required and night fishing is permitted.

Stock: When the lake was drained in the Spring of 2002 the fish stock was mainly small fish of various species. These were removed and given to the local fish farmer. Once the lake was de-silted and limed the sluice gate closed, the lake quickly filled.

Then, in the Winter of 2002, the lake was stocked with forty-five carp between 16lb - 28lb and five carp of 29lb - 33lb. In December 2003 we added a further 39 carp to 28lbs (17 x 20-28lbs and 13 x 17-20lbs) plus 9 Grass carp to 25lbs, and some pike.The total stock is over 80 fish. The average weight of stock now being 20lbs+. These have been fed on carp pellets throughout the Winter months.

In Febraury 2005 we added 2 Mirrors of 42lbs and 44lbs and 6 fish of 35lbs - 38lbs to compliment the existing stock, also 15 Catfish between 10lbs - 15lbs and two of 30lbs, one of these larger Cats was caught during a netting sesion in the winter of 2006, and weighed 49lbs! This water is by no means a pushover though as some of the carp are wise old lumps and the anglers that put in the most effort reap the best rewards, some of the catches here have been phenomenal! like Ashley who banked 10 big forties during his week or Gary who had 6 forties and a fifty pound carp plus others. Its not just a big carp water though, it also has a number of large catfish (silure) to 110 lbs and one huge diamond back sturgeon (named Mervin) who now weighs over 105 lbs! Description: If you like to combine your carp fishing with trying for monster catfish then take a good look at the Windmill complex. There are two lakes, are around 4 acres, one full of specimen carp and the other offering some serious Cat fishing. You can book the whole complex to yourselves (maximum 7 anglers) and fish whichever lake you like… but we also accept individual bookings if you want to specify the lake you’d prefer to fish.

 Lake: The lakes are extremely attractive, surrounded by a plantation of poplar trees giving a feeling of total seclusion. The Carp lake has an island and is made up of secluded bays around the perimeter. There are no designated pegs and you can bivvy up wherever you like. It has overhanging trees and reed lined margins with lily pads in several areas.

 Stock: There are around 120 mirrors and commons to 43lb+, plus 22 grass carp to 41lb. The Cat Lake also has a long island with plenty of overhanging trees giving good cover. The cats go to 80lb+ and there’s also a good head of carp of all sizes up to 35lb… so don’t neglect this lake if you’re after the carp.

 Facilities: If you hire the venue exclusively you also get the use of a lovely lakeside cabin sited just 15m from the Carp Lake. Location: Lac du villefond is a 8 acre exclusive carp fishing lake in France, tree lined, surrounded by open fields set in very quite countryside with fenced lined private grounds down a little-used country road. 6 hours from Calais

Description:Lac du villefond is a mature 8 acre carp lake, and has been a fishery since the 1930’s; in 2008/09 it has been open to the public. It has access all the way around, with 8 purpose built swims including one double. There are over hanging trees and shrubs ideal for stalking and great to fish too. There is a tree lined island reachable from most swims and plenty of snag free open water. The bottom is hard clay with minimal silt. The fish are fed on our high protein pellet all through the winter so the fish have many months of unpressured feeding. To ensure a high nutritional value in the bait used we do require all pellet to be brought on site this is primarily to ensure the fish grow at a consistent rate and remain fit healthy as well as hard fighting. The pellet used has been the fish's main food source since they were stocked in the lake and the catch results using this pellet are best described as prolific. This pellet can be paid for when booking the lake or on an as when needed policy once you have arrived.

Stock:The water is rich with natural food and holds in addition to the original fish which go to 30+ including a couple of very large koi carp, a stocking of 200 carp over the 20lb mark. The 200 carp stocked include mainly mirrors with some leathers and some commons including the lakes largest carp stocked at 48lb! Along with the carp stocking, catfish to 66lb were stocked and sturgeon too over 30lb! Also there are coarse fish and large pike in the lake.

Description:Twin Lakes Caravan Park is a picturesque English family owned site set in the region of Charente-Maritime, France. We cater for those seeking a quiet and restful holiday in rural France away from the hustle and bustle of every day life.

The caravan site has two fishing lakes. The top lake, which is set in, the wooded area is mainly for experienced fishermen, with Carp at 20lb plus. A small daily fee is charged for this and all catches must be released. In May 2005 within 3 hours one of our guests bagged a total catch of 140lb. He was so pleased with the fishing on site he booked again for later in the year bringing the whole family for a holiday in France.

If you wish to go fishing in France, you are required to obtain a fishing permit from the local fishing tackle shop a short drive away in Montendre. There are lots of ideal locations for day fishing in Charente Maritime, which we are more than happy to help with.

The bottom lake is of mixed fish and is free of charge to all guests in our mobile homes. Again our policy is catch and release. The lake is an ideal spot for eating out at night on the island where picnic benches are set aside for such activities (how romantic).

Drive and Survive:

This means you can drive, or any other means of transport, have exclusive fishing rights on the lake, and can pitch up your own bivvy You will also need to provide your own catering.

Accommodation and Catering:

If fishing is not your thing or you have people travelling with you who do not wish to fish the lake, you can always book accommodation and catering. You will recieve full accommodation in one of the Gites, and will be catered for at breakfast and dinner.

Lionheart Lakes guarantees guests total privacy. Whilst set in a somewhat remote location, the nearest town is between 3 and 4 miles away where there are supermarkets, restaurants offering English and French cuisine, bars, tabac and newsagents. The local open market (Wednesdays) should not be missed, as this is when one could purchase delicious fresh local farm produce, and other local delicacies as well as hot spit-roast poultry and paella. A nearby restaurant, Le Champignon is just a 2-minute drive away and highly recommended.

Lionheart Lakes comprise of two lakes. Le Grand et Le Petit. The dimension of the larger lake is 2-acres, with varying depths of 2ft to 8ft. There is an island of trees which is central, and that is snag-free. The lake contains many types of fresh water fish including a stock of Common and Mirror Carp weighing up to 40lbs.

In addition, there are also Pike, Zander, Roach, Dace, Perch but NO POISSON CHATS! The smaller lake’s dimension is just less than 1 acre. This lake has been drained and cleared of snags and fish, and will be stocked with ornamental fish such as Golden Orf, Koi Carp, Golden Tench and small carp. This lake is designed to ‘catch’ all our younger avid Anglers and would be perfect for children to learn to fish, and could also provide some unusual fishing fun for adults staying at Lionheart Lakes.

Facilities:Accommodation available is a 3 bedroom eco lakeside cottage the will sleep up to 6 people. The cottage is currently being restored to a high standard & due to be finished in Summer 2008.

Richworth Bait is available & cooked particles can be pre-ordered on booking.

Location: The Carp Creuse Angling Experience at Etang De Vost. This picturesque 4.5 Acre Lake is surrounded by mature trees set in the beautiful French countryside in the Creuse department of the Limousin region of France.

Description:Etang De Vost is 4.5 acres in size with widths of around 40-95 yards and depths from 2-8ft , it is set in beautiful country side with wooded area and bushes all around.

Features of the lake are numerous and classical including the old river bed, inlet stream and over hanging trees, to name a few.

Stock:Carp Creuse was formed in 2007 to provide access to one of France's hidden gems added over 1 ton of fast growing carp ranging from the smallest 16lb to the biggest 38lb these fish are only between three to five season old. The fish were added to unknown stock.

The lake was formed over 30+ years ago and was stocked with a large number of carp, roach & perch.
