Description: E'tang De Campus is a carp fishing lake situated in Northern France; the lake comes to life in early spring and with the longer French summer continues into November. Lake: E'tang De Campus is 4 acres in size and set in 10 acres of lush French countryside. The carp fishing lake borders the Alpes Mancelle, a protective area of acres and acres of forests. E'tang De Campus is a beautiful relaxing place to be let alone fish. The lake is spring fed via 2 natural springs with water levels and quality good throughout the year. The fishing lake is lined with several large willow trees along the northern side with silver birch and the odd oak tree between. The southern side is lush green grass. We have 6 purpose made pegs to fish from, these have been dug down close to the water line to allow safe landing and returning of carp, the pegs are gravelled for your comfort. The lake bed is mostly clay with a small amount of silt over the top. This beautiful and tranquil fishing lake is 90% snag free, however we recommend a minimum 12lb breaking strain line. The fishery is best suited to 4 anglers per week using up to 3 rods per person; we can accommodate 6 for a slight additional cost.

It’s roughly pear-shaped with a central island in its bulge, meaning that 100% of the water is fishable and 4 anglers will all have attractive swims.The banks are grassed, flat and wide and mature trees surround the whole complex, making it a haven for wild animals and birds amongst the surrounding farmland. The swims are located near each corner of the lake and each of the 4 main swims has a sister swim on its adjacent bank. So every angler can switch banks at any time to take advantage of changing wind and conditions. In the 2 home swims you can enjoy a drink or a meal on the lodge terrace without even having to reel in! The lake bottom is mainly clay. There are deeper areas at both ends of the lake and a deeper trench running the length of the lake - so there’s plenty of underwater ridges and features to fish to. The depth range is between 4 and 7 feet and although the water level normally drops a foot over the summer months, there is very little silt, so there aren’t any shallow no-go areas. Stock: Average size of carp stocked in November 2008 was 20lb 4oz. Average catch in 2009 was 25lb and the catch reports saw plenty of 30s on the bank. The 2009 lake record was 39lb 8oz and the most fish out by single anglers in a week were 37 and 21. Nuisance fish (small carp) were removed in July 2009.

The Lake: This is a 40 year old man made lake of approximately 5.5 acres, fed by a natural spring, with a silt over clay bottom. Fishing is from one bank and is certainly exciting with a host of features including, plateaus, weed beds, gullies and overhanging vegetation that just scream ‘carp’. Vehicle access is possible along all of the fishing bank. In the past Poisson Chat have been a nuisance in the summer months (mainly June & July) but they were hardly present at all in the 2009 season. Just go prepared in case they do make an appearance Stock: The Lake does hold a significant number of original fish. These carp are mostly very dark mirrors, averaging around 25lb in weight, as well as a few smaller commons. Additional fish were added in November 2005. This was followed by more stockings in early 2006. Each time only top quality fish were introduced - all handpicked by Mehdi. As the catch reports show the stock levels are very good - there's certainly no shortage of fish. Take a look at the catch returns and you’ll see that Old Oaks delivers a lot of 30’s... and we know of at least 4 different forties; a 43lb mirror , 40lb 6oz mirror , 42lb mirror and an immaculate 41lb common. Plastic corn above a bed of hemp and partiblend has proved to be a very effective method and a baitboat gives you a great advantage. Fish Stocked: Carp

Lake: 4 acres in size and has 4 swims. Cedar is set in its own very private grounds, securely fenced in and separated from the road by the large Cedar trees from which it takes its name. The owners, Tommy and George Young, know what’s needed to produce a first class fishery, both in terms of carp stock and facilities, and they will spare no expense to do it... so you can be confident that Cedar is a top quality venue Facilities: They have installed two new wooden chalets on opposite banks of the lake, each having steps down to its own large, comfortable fishing platform. Each chalet has electricity, a fridge and cooking facilities and will comfortably sleep 2 people in 2 single beds (no bedding is supplied at all – please bring your own pillows, sleeping bags etc). At present there is no mains water available in the chalets but there is a refillable water tank to provide water for washing up etc. The newly built toilet and shower block does have mains water and drainage and is housed in a separate cabin on the third bank, a couple of minutes walk from either chalet. Access by car is possible to both chalets. Because of the steps down to the fishing platforms from the chalets it would be too dangerous to allow fishing from the chalet i.e. you must be down on the platform with your rods if they are fishing. There’s plenty of room to bivvy up on the platforms so night fishing is not a problem.

Stock: The carp stock amounts to around 500 documented fish ranging from 20's to high 40's with our first 50's due in 2010. The carp are supplemented by catfish up to 80lb mark and a few sturgeon. The fish are all in superb condition and have a reputation for their power and stamina. Being young fish growth rates are proving to be at the top end of expectations and we enjo average increases of at least 5lb per annum with individual carp putting on up to 10lb per year. Description: La Chaussee is a quiet little hamlet of around 6 houses and the lake runs the length of it. About 10/15 minutes away is the town of Pre en Pail where there are numerous shops/bars and garages including a 'Super U' supermarket where you can get all the things you’ll need. Lake: The lake is 12 acres and an average depth of 2 metres. We have 5 double swims but only ever a maximum of 6 anglers at any one time so there’s always another swim available should you wish for a change of luck not that we think you’d need it. Stock: 2 ton of Carp went into the lake in February 08. There are commons and mirrors with 7 koi’s and one grass carp as a bonus. They range from 13 lbs upto 35 lbs and a good head of 20lb+ . This was in addition to existing stock so a mystery catch could be on the cards! The lake has never been seriously fished and is over two hundred years old (pre Napoleonic). The depth of this lake is from 4 feet at the shallow end to 14 feet deep at the dam end and the average depth is over 7ft deep. Stock: The re-stocking of the lake will happen in Jan/Feb of 2012, has soon as we receive confirmation of our order we will post this on our website. Facilities: For the Drive and Survive there are two shower and kitchen area, with Freezer, fridge, cooker, and microwave. There are four bedrooms two on the ground floor and two bedrooms are on the top floor, both top floor bedrooms are double sized rooms. On request we can add more beds in these bedrooms. It is now a French carp fishing holiday venue with a superb stock of very big fish Lake: We have cut 20 level swims around the lake but limit the numbers of anglers to a maximum of 12 per week. This ensures that there are always empty swims to move to if you need to or for stalking during the day. The bed of the lake is composed of clay and clean, non-smelling silt. The hard sandy clay shoulders stretch out for twenty to thirty yards and the water depth ranges from three feet immediately in front of each swim to six or seven feet in the middle The reason that the silt is not the normal black, smelly kind is that the lake is teeming with blood worms, cadis fly larvae and literally thousands of swan mussels which are filter feeders and the reason for “clean Silt”. Stock: We can accurately forecast the likely spring results for 2010 as we are carrying out a drain down for the autumn of 2009. We are confident that these will show at least 130 different thirties plus a further 40 of over 40 lb with a current lake record of 56.07 lb. On top of these we have exactly 49 catfish to well over 100 lb. During 2009 we have so far seen 125 forty pound plus carp landed as well as 591 thirties. There are three lakes on the park and all three are well stocked with fish. The main lake is approx three acres in size although a little harder to fish than the other two if you set your stall up right be it for the big one or bag up a good days fishing is there to be enjoyed. The main lake has its own fishing platforms to fish from and they circle a small island. The two small lakes are very active making them ideal for beginners or children. These lakes are surrounded by trees and hedges with picnic areas. Although the sun still shines on the two lakes there are some nice shaded areas which can be a relief from the heat at the height of the season. We have a selection of tackle and bait for sale and rods/reels etc. can be hired for the day. A 10 acre lake set in 17 acres of land. Bordered by a wood on one side the lake varies in depth from 3 ft - 10ft at the dam end. The lake is over 400 years old and benefits from natural swims... of which there are seven with large grassy banks ideal for 'bivvying'. The lake is mainly silt with a small number of gravel areas. The lake is virtually 'weed-free', and is a carpers paradise. Iain & Kim, the English owners, live in the house on the dam wall and are 'on hand' 24/7 with advice, if you should so need. Kim provides a legendary food package, homecooked & in enormous portions which is served on the patio on the dam wall watching the sunset over the lake.... A truly awesome sight. A round 4 acres in size it has two islands in the centre and a couple of banks of lilies. There is a fair amount of weed, especially in the shallower water. Over all depth is relatively shallow with 2 feet to the left hand bank and 4 feet by the larger island, and in the centre before the lilies. It has about half an acre that is no more than 18 inches deep - the large carp can be seen on a sunny day patrolling the margins and lily pads, a stalkers paradise. It really is an exciting lake to fish, with the water being quite shallow when you hook a fish the surface erupts as the carp attempts to make its escape... heart stopping stuff !! Currently the lake is very natural with grassy banks and plenty of cover. It is an easy venue in terms of the furthest you will have to cast is about 40yards. The islands can be reached with a 20-25 yard cast. There is a small amount of weed growth in the lake but we had no problems finding clear spots. Stock:The lake is a fairly old, dating back some fifty years. The carp were stocked over 10 years ago and have thrived in the rich water that had never been fished until 2002. All the fish we caught therefore were absolutely mint and in perfect health. As far as we can ascertain only mirror carp are present with no commons or grassies. Other species present include pike, perch and roach. The average size, with no recent restocking having been undertaken seems to be between 25-40lbs. These stocks will be supplemented with additional carp later in 2002. At present w e estimate the stock levels to be around 40-50 fish with the majority of these being low 30's. In our first field testing session at the beginning of May, 3 anglers, fishing 4 rods each had 23 fish, 15 of these being over 30 pounds. Facilities:The pool has clean but basic facilities with small wooden chalet which contains an English toilet and hot shower. There is a sink unit in the Kitchen area with hot water for washing up. There is also a fridge. A single hotplate is available but beware, use of too much electricity at one time may trip the power! The lake is of the small Estate lake type of 5½ acres, surrounded by grassy banks with three islands, providing a natural haven for the carp. It is fed by a stream so the water quality is excellent. There are 7 pegs in all, 4 doubles and three singles which can accommodate six anglers comfortably. The lake has a firm clay bottom with only marginal weed growth in certain areas. There are no nuisance species, such as poissons chats, but the water does hold some crayfish. Other species present include perch, pike, roach, rudd and sun fish. No boats are allowed on the lake, but anglers may use bait boats. Stock:Approx 90 - 100 commons, mirrors & leathers. to over 50lb Facilities:The facilities on this venue are excellent. The modern house is available for four guests to sleep in comfortable, fully fitted bedrooms, with 2 bathroom and showers and English style toilet facilities.
