Summary: Also present in the lake are some pike which were re-stocked from the original netting. As to how big they are we are not sure but some nice specimens have been caught on pike fishing sessions at the lake. Etang De Chanet is also home to some beautiful wildlife including Jays, Buzzards and Kingfisher to name but a few. Stock: The rest of the stock consisted of a handful of wels catfish which at present time are estimated to be at around 40-50lb. Our newest edition to the lake is `Mandy`, a sexy specimen 70lb mandarine wels catfish whom we couldn’t resist buying down to her sheer beauty. Located in the centre of the complex, it is stocked with an incredible head of young and powerful 20’s, 30’s, 40’s and regularly produces some arm wrenching sport. In its first season the lake produced well in excess of 1000 fish landed. The lake also holds a number of big grass carp averaging over 35lb and a few catfish between 60lb and 130lb. The lake bed is a mix of sand silt and stone, a few weed beds and lily pads. There are several sunken islands plus lots of overhanging trees around the lake, every swim is capable of producing a result. This lake has been intentionally developed as something approaching a ‘Runs Water’, but with a very big average size of fish (Sept 09 – 30lb average). Stocked with an incredible array of stunning carp from leathers to linears and everything in between. This lake is well worth looking at for 2010 if you want to catch some very nice 30’s with a great chance of fish over 40lb in fact we are confident enough to say that the best carp fishing holidays in France will be right here next year. LOUANE is the biggest lake open, situated on the East side. LOUANE is home to some very special fish, the lake average is over 35lb. It is the biggest and deepest lake on the complex and is more suited to experienced anglers due to a lower stocking density and snaggy lake bed, it is not a runs water but with most of the fish being over 30lb it is a lake that has the potential to produce a once in a lifetime catch. Several anglers have had 20×30’s and 40’s in a week in 2009. The lake bed has a hard flat bottom, so a good baiting strategy combined with watercraft can pay dividends. The lake is already producing a good growth rate, the average is over 35lb and will probably be around 40lb in 2010. The water also contains ONE big Catfish called Scarface (180lb+), he has been hooked a few times in 2009 and has won every battle!! There are enough swims to accommodate up to a total of 8 anglers, there are two islands, one of these has 4 swims cut into it and is a fantastic location to spend a week or two with a few mates. Location: Countryside and beautiful forests of d’ Aurtrey
The lakes are very secluded and completely surrounded by trees and are situated on a private estate owned by the Engel family, farmers here for generations. The image below will cycle through views from each swim on this fabulous water Lake: The Bley Main lake is divided into 8 pegs, each one giving the angler plenty of room to fish, with some pegs having room for 2 anglers to fish side-by-side. All of the pegs offer features to fish to and each angler has more than enough water to fish in total comfort. There is a good depth of water in the lake at around 6 ft at the dam end, to about 2ft at the cabin end, where the carp are often seen cruising in the shallows. It is peaceful, very secluded, and a totally private estate. The tall electric gates are closed each night to make it completely safe, and it is fenced on all sides. Its tree lined banks are surrounded with lush vegetation and an abundance of wild life, which add to its tranquil magic. With regards to the climate, although it does rain sometimes, this part of France enjoys hot dry weather for most of the time. Even early spring and late autumn can be very warm, making April and October very productive for fishing. Stocks: The fish stocks are well managed by the Carp Runs team, and periodically the lakes are drained down to remove unwanted coarse fish. There are almost 300 carp in the lake from 20lbs to well over 50lb, and around 20 good sized catfish. The lake contains mostly mirrors and about 60 commons to just under the 50lb mark, and a few grass carp to 40lb plus. In 2008 almost all of the carp caught were over the 30lb mark, and so far we've seen plenty of 40lb to 50lb fish on the bank every week, with lots of anglers achieving personal bests. Big hits too are common here as well, with some anglers taking as many as 60 carp in a week averaging well over 30lb overall. In 2009 many more carp over 30lb were caught than 20lb fish by a long, long way, and one of our regulars informed us that he had caught, weighed and photographed 33 totally different carp over 40lb in the 4 years that he has been coming to the lake. The Lake was well stocked with big catfish in 2004, and cats to 80lb plus are banked on a regular basis, so there's always the opportunity to fish for this hard-fighting species on a spare rod with a good chance of a result whilst carp fishing.(Catfish are caught every week) Like most waters, anglers who put in the most effort here will reap the best rewards and this lake, although not difficult water certainly responds to the thinking angler, and a quite one. The Carp Runs team continue to feed the carp in the closed season and as a result the fish are putting on weight at an incredible rate. The new season will see the fish fitter, fatter and fighting even harder than ever, if that's possible! The fish at Bley are some of the hardest fighting fish that you are ever likely to find in France and this water is well suited to the angler looking to put a few good bends in the rod, with the chance of some big fish as well. As far as we know it was never been fished for carp so it was virgin territory. The local villagers have told us of big carp cruising and splashing and we have now seen them too. (click on latest catch for update) Lake: 14 acres of lake surrounded by farmland and the village of Masseret Du Gare. The lake is pre Napoleonic which means we have an automatic legal right to 24 hr fishing. We have stocked the lake with carp of 20, 30, & 40+lbs this winter. (see latest catch for details). The lake is situated around a 3.5 hour drive away from Calais and is located a convenient 10 minute drive in a quiet rural area from the nearest motorway junction. There is a superb head of fish from 20lbs to 72lbs+ with around 40 forties, 12 fifties, 2 sixties, 1 seventy and numerous twenties and thirties. There are also 50 cats to 74lbs. Most banks are tree lined; there are 10 large swims around the lake. All with vehicle access which will allow the 8 angler limit a good choice of water – approximately 1.4 acres per angler. Stock: The carp stock amounts to around 500 documented fish ranging from 20's to high 40's with our first 50's due in 2010. The carp are supplemented by catfish up to 80lb mark and a few sturgeon. The fish are all in superb condition and have a reputation for their power and stamina. Being young fish growth rates are proving to be at the top end of expectations and we enjo average increases of at least 5lb per annum with individual carp putting on up to 10lb per year. Fish Stocked: Carp  Location: Located in the hamlet of La Cour, part of the village of Vesdun in the Cher and can be accessed just off the D943 3km from the centre of Culan. Lake: La Cour is a 15 Acre Lake surrounded by 22 Acres of pasture and woodland, in which 17 swims have been created around the periphery of the main lake which will accomodate up to 12 anglers at any one time to ensure you have plenty of room to manouvre and the opportunity to move around should you wish to. A smaller stock lake is adjacent to the main lake which Alan uses for stock rearing before introducing the fish to the main lake in a controlled manner. The farthest point of the Lake is wooded and this natural vegetation has been left to provide an area for the fish to spawn. The lake is spring and stream fed and undulates to 4.5 metres at its deepest point. Stock: We are unsure of the total stock as we have never drained the lake to maintain the balance of the eco system. Prior to stocking we have caught several 30 and 40lb Carp so these could well be over the 50lb level by now! We have also stocked 2.5tonnes of carp (common and mirror) in total to 40lbs across the last 2 years to supplement the existing stock and have some lovely specimens now. Location: Is set in the famous Champagne region of France just ten minutes from the market town of Vitry le Francois and is an easy 4 hour drive from the ports of Calais, Dunkerque and Boulogne. Stock: There is a good head of big carp with several known, including a dozen 40lb+ fish to 55lb, with the biggest at just over 60lb. Lake: Depths range from 3ft in the Margins, to 7ft in the main body of the lake. There are bars, troughs and an old stream bed in the lake. It has mostly a hard bottom with odd silt patches, no snags to worry about. There are 10 swims of which most are doubles.  Location: Champagne near Thieblemont Faremont Etang des Royales - is a 25 acre French carp fishing holiday complex nestled amongst a forest setting in France and comprises of two well stocked fishing lakes one containing carp and the other catfish. The entire angling complex is fenced with a secure set of entry gates, so security is not an issue. There is a large car park and vehicle access around the lake, so if you wish to drop your tackle off at your swim on the main lake. The main carp fishing lake is 15 acres, has a gravel bottom with plenty of features and an average depth of about 6-7ft with the deepest part reaching 9ft. There are also deep margins allowing the fish to be landed with ease. The bank of the lake is also gravel, lined with mature trees and bushes. There are 14 swims on the main lake, some doubles but most are singles, with a few social ones. You, our customers, will find an excellent head of carp ranging from upper doubles to over the magic 50lb mark, with a large number being over 40lb, an average weight of 32lbs, with more chance of catching a 40lb+ fish than a double. Many catfish are present. Farm lake 
Description: La Chaussee is a quiet little hamlet of around 6 houses and the lake runs the length of it. About 10/15 minutes away is the town of Pre en Pail where there are numerous shops/bars and garages including a 'Super U' supermarket where you can get all the things you’ll need. Lake: The lake is 12 acres and an average depth of 2 metres. We have 5 double swims but only ever a maximum of 6 anglers at any one time so there’s always another swim available should you wish for a change of luck not that we think you’d need it. Stock: 2 ton of Carp went into the lake in February 08. There are commons and mirrors with 7 koi’s and one grass carp as a bonus. They range from 13 lbs upto 35 lbs and a good head of 20lb+ . This was in addition to existing stock so a mystery catch could be on the cards! The lake has never been seriously fished and is over two hundred years old (pre Napoleonic). Facilities: We have a new shower block (two showers /toilets/basins) and a dining area overlooking the lake. We have also installed 6 security boxes with plug points in for your personal things ie mobile phone, cameras etc.

Lake Perigny La Rose Description: Périgny la Rose is situated in the Champagne-Ardennes region, near Epernay. This area of France is more than famous for every angler as it was the former bed of the river Seine. The route to the venue is mostly motorway, very straight forward, and should take about 3 1/2 hours from Calais. Lake: The lake is about 13 acres in size, which has been established approximately 18 years. During the last few years, Mr. Dollat (Mayor of Perigny la Rose) with his team have refurnished this pit and made all the banks available for fishing. The lake is totally secured with a fence covering the full 15 acres of land. There is a track that goes all around the perimeter. The swims are well spaced out, with grassy areas for bivvies and rods. The banks are very smooth, which give you the opportunity to fish anywhere you like. The lake bed, in true gravel pit style, is anything but flat with gravel bars, deep holes and plateaus all over the place. Bait boats are allowed on this venue and could be an advantage for precise baiting and presentation. There is not a lot of weed - a big head of grass carp do a good job at keeping it at bay. Stock: The lake has a very big head of carp that was stocked bi-annually by the mayor of Périgny la Rose until 2008. One of the nice things about the venue is the high proportion of commons present - the lake record common stands at 46lb. Mirror Pool Fisheries  Brittany Mill Lakes Mill Lake is our flagship lake and it is heaving with big carp! Many forties, up to 6 fifties and untold thirties and twenties, as well as cats to 116lbs and mervin the sturgeon currently 105lbs! Adorable is a nice description of this 12 acre lake set amidst traditional French countryside its old established woodland along one bank is full of wildlife while the grass bank on the opposite side is the area for sun lovers. A most pleasant place to fish, relax and enjoy nature, watch big carp cruise the surface in the heat of the summer sun occasionally throwing themselves out of the surface water crashing back in with a wallop that sounds more like a pig falling into the lake! Sitting right next to our main facilities and holding the largest of all our carp it really is so many anglers favourite lake. Lake Cadouzan is set up for those that like loads of big carp action! Restocking began in 2005, when we introduced over 400 big carp mainly mid to upper twenties and thirties and 40's were stocked and they are growing fast!, biggest carp in 2009 52lbs followed by a nice 51lbs mirror and a good number of 40's and loads of upper 30's it keeps most anglers bite alarms singing! 17 acres of rich stream fed lake with a few Lilly beds in some of the best looking and most tranquil surroundings in France. A maximum of just 8 anglers (9 if a group booking) with 17 acres of water it guarantees you all the space you could ever want for your carp fishing adventure holiday. Our aim is to help you enjoy a fantastic and fun carp fishing holiday with great carp, great surroundings, great food, and to have a memorable time for all the right reasons. Huge stock now over 500 carp! Best catch of 2008 for one angler was 58 carp for a total weight of 1800lbs with 27 thirties to 39lbs. best so far for 2009 is 78 carp for angler Steve Major whilst his fishing buddy Leigh Wakeford had 63 carp for a total weight of 3135 lbs! Including loads of 30's, 2 x 40's and a 52lbs mirror. Lake Lezay is a true big fish venue where the likelihood of catching a whacker carp of 30, 40 or 50lb exceeds the chances of catching 20s because of the ratio of big carp in the lake. This water is by no means a pushover though as some of the carp are wise old lumps and the anglers that put in the most effort reap the best rewards, some of the catches here have been phenomenal! like Ashley who banked 10 big forties during his week or Gary who had 6 forties and a fifty pound carp plus others. Its not just a big carp water though, it also has a number of large catfish (silure) to 110 lbs and one huge diamond back sturgeon (named Mervin) who now weighs over 105 lbs! This is a peaceful and tranquil venue one in which to relax and soak up the angling environment until the line over your buzzer suddenly jolts you in to action that is! Website: http://www.moorlandfisheries.co.uk Description: Etang du roivre is a fifteen acre lake set in our own 33 acre estate which in turn is situated in the middle of the renowned, beautiful Burgundy region of France. The lake is over three hundred years old and has only been fished since we bought it in early 2002 before which it had been kept as a nature reserve. It is now a French carp fishing holiday venue with a superb stock of very big fish Lake: We have cut 20 level swims around the lake but limit the numbers of anglers to a maximum of 12 per week. This ensures that there are always empty swims to move to if you need to or for stalking during the day. The bed of the lake is composed of clay and clean, non-smelling silt. The hard sandy clay shoulders stretch out for twenty to thirty yards and the water depth ranges from three feet immediately in front of each swim to six or seven feet in the middle The reason that the silt is not the normal black, smelly kind is that the lake is teeming with blood worms, cadis fly larvae and literally thousands of swan mussels which are filter feeders and the reason for “clean Silt”. Stock: We can accurately forecast the likely spring results for 2010 as we are carrying out a drain down for the autumn of 2009. We are confident that these will show at least 130 different thirties plus a further 40 of over 40 lb with a current lake record of 56.07 lb. On top of these we have exactly 49 catfish to well over 100 lb. During 2009 we have so far seen 125 forty pound plus carp landed as well as 591 thirties. The total captures this year have recorded over 52% as being over 30.00 lb and we are expecting these figures to easily be eclipsed during 2010.

In 2007 the lake was drained and re-stocked with over 1ton of Mirror Carp, Common Carp and Grass Carp weighing up to 45lb. They put up a good fight! which makes Chateau de Tigny the most desirable place for Carp fishing in France! Our Gite is a spacious restored stone farm cottage circa 18th C. complete with oak beams, restored fireplace and bread oven. Upstairs are 2 double bedrooms with en-suite wc and two twin bedrooms. The gite is only a cast away from two of the lakes and a short walk from the main 10 acre lake, all within a completely private estate. Non angling guests have been charmed by our animals including llamas and alpacas. Lac les Pins is set amongst Pine Trees in a most stunning and idyllic location, where you will be able to enjoy the tranquility and relaxation it offers. We acquired the lake from the French owner at the end of 2003. He had used the lake and surrounding area over the years for the hunting of wild boar. The lake is in a very secluded location, but you may spot a deer at sunrise and sunset, visiting and drinking from the lake. We have yet to see a wild boar, they are possibly hiding in the surrounding enclosed mature woodland, but there is plenty of other wildlife around to give that added feel of getting back to nature. As the lake is stream fed, there is no need to worry about losing depths. The water quality is superb, with plenty of natural food resources, although we have been supplementing our fish with other nutrients in order to increase their growth prior to opening. Our stunning specimens of Carp, a mixture of mirrors and commons, range from 20lbs to 50lbs, most were in excess of 30lbs to 38lbs in 2004 when newly stocked. They have now grown considerably, and our best recorded catch was in June 2005, weighing in at 48.5lb. In 2006, we will be continuing our stocking programme by introducing in excess of 150 Carp (Mirrors and Commons) into the lake and stock pond. During 2005, we invited 24 angling friends to test out the lake for us. Overall, they caught 197 Carp, which is an average of 8.2 per person. There were 114 30's, with 36 over 35lbs, and 8 over 40lbs. There are 9 swims on the lake, accessible from all sides. We have decided not to permit more than 6 anglers on the lake at any one time. We believe in allowing each angler a larger area to themselves in which to fish, therefore enhancing the quality of your fishing holiday. 2005 was a year of much hard work and preparation to get our business on track for opening in 2006. We have recently had our 1 1/4 acre stock pond excavated to a depth of 5-8' in order for us to produce our own stock fish in the future. Stock:The current owners, Tommy & George Young, purchased Island Lake in 2003. Before then it had been unfished for many years, allowing the original fish to grow to an incredible size – the first few sessions produced carp to just under 50lb. Recent additional stockings means it now has a stock of around 200 mirrors and commons, the vast majority being over 25lb... in fact the lake contains more 30’s than it does 20’s!
