La Grand Vallee
Location: Brittany, Ill et Vilaine It's not a difficult place to fish. Even occasional carpers can be successful without having to fish full-time or nights. Two adjacent lakes of 4 and a bit acres and 1-acre; set in countless hectares of private woodland in a totally secluded and tranquil valley. There are loads of carp to low 40's. Mirrors, commons and a few grassies. The majority are 20's and doubles. They're long and lean and fight like river fish. Lake: The Main Lake is 4 or 5 acres. Long and narrow, it's a margin water with no long chucks needed. There are loads and loads of carp to low 40's. Mostly 20's and doubles. The fishing's prolific so its not compulsory to fish nights. There are plenty of other species to entertain pleasure anglers. The 1-acre Small lake provides even faster action. Mostly doubles, but with the chance of a biggie.
Le Monument
Location: Brittany, Ill et Vilaine
Description: Big carp fishing in peace and seclusion. It's hardly been fished. Lake: The island can be fished from all swims. But, with variations in depth to 12 feet and some fishy near margins, it takes a bit more thought than chucking 3 rods at the island. It's a largely gravel bottom, with little in the way of snags or weed (other than in Chris Yates corner). There are some great stalking spots in the shallows and the island channels. The fish haven't been pressured so aren't cute or riggy. With around 200 carp in 5 acres the fishing isn't hard. But, with a good average stamp (loads of 30's and a few 40's), and plenty of natural food - they're not mugs

Main Lake is the larger of the two lakes that we have on the complex. At around 2 acres of fishable water it is the ideal size to comfortably accommodate 2 to 3 anglers. The lake which is around 40 years old was dug for peat by hand and therefore has a varied bottom with superb features under the water surface. You can expect depths of 1 to 7 feet, most of which is silt with gullys and plateaus. Gravel areas, bars and weed beds are there for you to find and fish.

A further stocking took place in December 2005 of 6 x 30lb+ commons & then the most recent stocking took place in December 2008 when over ½ of a ton of carp were stocked with an average weight of 28lb. Glehias
Location: Brittany, Cotes d'Armor Website: http://www.anglinglines.com/docs/ourvenues/lakes/glehias/index.php Description: Gléhias further compliments our excellent range of small waters which can be booked exclusively and include top class accommodation. This is definitely a venue where you could take the whole family and relax knowing that they'll be happy while you enjoy some fabulous fishing. The accommodation is optional so it will also suit a small group of up to 4 anglers who prefer to bivvy and enjoy a lake to themselves. To give further flexibility Glehias also offers some weeks when it’s possible for 2 pairs of anglers to book the lake on a shared basis... so if you fancy a crack at this stunning little venue there’s lots of options Lake: The Lake sits adjacent to a small forest, set in a 10 acre protected plot attracting a variety of rare and beautiful wildlife including eagles, owls and kingfishers. It's around 3 acres in size, varying in depth from 1m to 2m. It's lined with irises, bulrushes, foxgloves and overhanging trees and shrubs. On three sides of the lake there's room for 4 anglers and their bivvies on the grass banks. The fourth bank is overgrown with gorse and reeds giving an excellent feature to fish to. Stock: The Lake had never been fished before 2005 and the original stocking can only be guessed at. What is known with certainty is that the owners did stock additional carp in February 2006 - this consisted of 68 fish, including 22 carp between 30lb and 42lb, plus several grass carp, koi and sturgeon. We estimate this brings the total carp count to around 100 fish with an average weight of around 26lb. This is a large number of fish for a 3 acre lake and should ensure everyone enjoys some rod bending action! There are no poisson chat or crayfish in this lake. Accommodation: When you fish Glehias you can also hire fabulous accommodation for up to four people in a traditional French farmhouse, set a 5 minute walk from the lake. There are three bedrooms - one double and two singles, shower and toilet. Downstairs there is a large living room with TV and DVD. The kitchen has all you need for self catering, including oven and hob, sink, kettle, microwave, fridge/freezer and toaster. There's an optional food package which can be pre-booked if you prefer not to cook... and you can take advantage of this even if you don’t hire the accommodation. A most pleasant place to fish, relax and enjoy nature, watch big carp cruise the surface in the heat of the summer sun occasionally throwing themselves out of the surface water crashing back in with a wallop that sounds more like a pig falling into the lake! Sitting right next to our main facilities and holding the largest of all our carp it really is so many anglers favourite lake. Lake Cadouzan is set up for those that like loads of big carp action! Restocking began in 2005, when we introduced over 400 big carp mainly mid to upper twenties and thirties and 40's were stocked and they are growing fast!, biggest carp in 2009 52lbs followed by a nice 51lbs mirror and a good number of 40's and loads of upper 30's it keeps most anglers bite alarms singing! 17 acres of rich stream fed lake with a few Lilly beds in some of the best looking and most tranquil surroundings in France. Forest Lake Carp Fishing
Location: Dordogne. We are located around 45 minutes by car from Bergerac airport. A map showing our exact location is available on our web site. Website: http://www.forestlakecarpfishing.com
Forest Lake Carp Fishing offers the ideal carp fishing holiday in France for those hoping to catch big carp. The carp lake is available for exclusive hire from April to October. The venue, which is British run, can accommodate up to five anglers per week, although 'fish stalkers' may prefer a smaller party if they wish to roam from peg to peg. Exclusive lake hire Because the water is around three acres in size we only rent the whole lake to one party at a time. This exclusive lake hire policy means that you and your party can indulge in a truly carefree carp fishing holiday without worrying about which swim you'll get or what passing anglers might nick from your peg. Accommodation is at the bankside in bivvies, although a fisherman's cabin is also at your disposal to make your stay more comfortable. This includes a modern, english-style toilet and shower, plus a kitchen with fridge, freezer, cooker, microwave, toaster, kettle and the usual pots, pans and cutlery. Fishing in France with less driving and more fishing We are also able to provide bivvies and other pieces of bulky equipment if required, so you won't need to bring loads of baggage if you choose to 'Fly and Survive' by booking a cheap flight to Bergerac airport. Of course, flying from the UK means that you can spend more of your holiday time fishing instead of driving. We're less than an hour from Bergerac airport and can pick you up if you want, although car rental is also available if you wish to be a little more mobile. The nearest bar-restaurant is 1.5km distant and it takes 15 minutes to drive to the nearest supermarket. Naturally, we can pick up odd items for you during the week and we'll happily call in at the supermarket on the way back from the airport if you wish. Catch a 40lb+ carp on your carp fishing holiday The carp lake is a damned, clay-bottomed, rain-fed lake of around three acres in size. It's located in the midst of farmland at the heart of the Double Forest in the Dordogne region of South West France. This is a truly unspoilt area with abundant wildlife, including wild boar, deer and birds of prey. If you keep your eyes peeled, you may even spot the kingfishers that flash across the lake from time to time.
Stock: Fish stock: Much to our delight a number of true linear carp happened to come out when our fish were being netted at the fish farm, including one of 32lb. True linears with a complete set of scales on the lateral line are extremely rare and a linear above 30lb is rarer still and a real specimen worth hunting for. The new fish supplemented the existing stock of mixed coarse fish and black bass. The original stock also included a good head of wild carp. The local farmers wink and tell us that there were already monsters in our lake before the restocking in 2008, although the biggest wildie we've seen to date was around 15lb. Mind you, that's quite a size for a wild carp and definitely something worth getting your hooks into. Facilities: All carp fishing holidays at Forest Lake Carp Fishing France include exclusive lake hire for you and your party along with the use of our fisherman's cabin. This is a newly renovated building with modern kitchen, shower and toilet. The kitchen includes a large fridge and a separate large freezer, an electric cooker, microwave, kettle and toaster along with all the pots, pans and cutlery that you're likely to need while carp fishing in France. There are also electric power points and adaptors in the cabin so that you can charge mobile phones and other items during your carp fishing holiday. The cabin does not include sleeping facilities as anglers are expected to take their naps between catches while bivvied up on the bankside. All you need to bring are your reels, bite alarms, scales, end tackle and sleeping bag.
