Description: Lac du Val is around 4½ acres & set in northern Normandy, less than an hour's drive from the ferry port of Caen. The privacy of the site allows peaceful and tranquil carp fishing in lush rural surroundings for a maximum of five anglers - it is possible to book the lake exclusively.

Lake: The lake, which opened as a commercial fishery in 2004, is of the small Estate lake type surrounded by grassy banks, dammed at one end and with two islands providing a natural haven for the carp at the top end. It is fed by a trout stream so the water quality is excellent.

The depth varies from 3m at the right hand end of the damn wall, averaging 1.5m in the centre, down to as little as 50cm in the shallows by the islands at the top end.

Stock: The current stock is over 200 carp and the largest resident, a magnificent common, goes to 62lb 2oz!

The water currently has at least 30+ thirties and 15+ forties and 4 known 50+’s... and this number is increasing all the time.

David has stocked the lake himself and has followed a policy of introducing good quality fish in small batches and these have now grown to a very good size. The first batch of carp, stocked in 2000, were all mid to upper doubles and these fish now make up the bulk of the 20's in the water. Since then fish have been added on a regular basis, with a batch of 22 fish added in January 2004 - all these fish were over twenty pounds. In February 2004 a further 24 carp were added - 5 x 30lb, 15 x 20lb, 3 x big doubles and a cracking 43lb common. Finally in October 2005 a 52.04 mirror was stocked.{rokcomments}

Description: It is approximately 7.5 acres in size and is available for a maximum of 6 anglers with a number of swims to choose from. All the necessary amenities are supplied for you to have a memorable weeks fishing. Journey time from Calais is approx 3.5 hours. Most of the journey is on very good motorways with plenty of service stations along the route. Formally a gravel pit, dug over 30 years ago. The large town of Sedan is a 5 minute drive away and the small village of Donchery is even less. With a small supermarket, open 7 days a week that will cater for all your needs. Take a 2 minute walk up the canal path that runs beside the lake and you will come across a small bar tabac where the landlord is very welcoming. For those wishing to explore further, the historic town of Bouillon in Belgium is only a 20 minute drive

Lake: This mature tree lined 7.5 acre lake is set within 12.5 acres of land. It has good depths ranging from 3ft-26ft. The owners have put in a number of swims to choose from, 5 singles and 3 doubles. All are purpose built and well spaced. Each angler is provided with a BBQ and a water container which will be filled daily. There is also a number of Carp Porters at your disposal to make life easier ferrying your gear to and from your chosen swim. The lake is stocked the lake with a mixture of common and mirror carp up to 44lbs plus a catfish weighing 40kg/88lbs.

Facilities: You will find 1st class shower and toilets within the lodge. Also provided are tea and coffee making facilities along with a fridge. Notice boards with local information can be found in the lodge as well. Located around the lake there are a number of portable toilets. There is small shop on site where you will be able to purchase boilies - maze - pop ups etc, plus a range of end tackle.We offer breakfast (pre-orderable the night before).  Location: Situated near to the small town of Caussac Bonneval in the Limosin region of France.

Description: Travel time from Calais is around 6 hours 30 mins, Limoges airport is only 30 minutes away and fly packages can be arranged. In the local town you will find all that you need to kit you out for your stay at the lake. A bakers, Butchers, Supermarche and a lovely restaurant are all within a 8km drive from the lake.

Lake: The Lake was constructed over 30 years ago and is fed by three springs and a small stream; this ensures a healthy supply of fresh water even in the heat of the summer. The lake spans just less than three acres and starts at 2 feet in depth, this depth drops to 11 feet along the barrage (dam) wall. The lake is spilt up by two large lilly beds that offer sanctuary to the lake's residents during the summer months.The lake bed is hard and offers excellent bait presentation. Some silty areas can be found around the roots of the Lilly beds.

Stock: We currently know of fish up to 41lb 8oz, this is not to say that there is not larger fish hiding in Rosewater. The lake is unpressured and has never been fished on a regular basis. Fish from 20lb to 41lb oz have now been recorded and they are now putting weight on due to regular feeding.

Location: Located in Limousin countryside near the town of Limoges in France.

Description: This is a really super venue with accommodation included, 'La Foret' means the forest, and thus, is the name of the lake and house.The house and 2.2-acre lake are set in the middle of 5 acres of a private forested area. The lake is around 40 years old and very mature. It has been recently stocked with 80 carp over 20 lbs, up to mid forties. These fish are high quality, fast growing fish and recognised as being some of the finest in the country.

Lake: The lake ranges in depth from around 13 ft at the dam end to 1 ft down in the shallows, there are plenty of areas to stalk fish and watch them at close quarters in their watery home. Fishing is easy, with multiple captures of good fish every week.

It is a 5 hour drive from Calais and the home of 250 carp up to 55lb+. There are grass carp up to 40lb, a large amount of carp 20lb+ with plenty of thirties. Catches of 50-80 carp in a week is not uncommon. Boux is in the beautiful Morvan region of France, the lake is set in quiet countryside with no public footpaths or public access.

Description: The Lake being a 44 acre gravel pit in this estate is already famous worldwide for its exclusive shoot with exceptional management. It took us plenty of convincing to get the owner of the property to allow anglers on site. After 2 years of negotiations, the lake is now open for guests outside of the shooting season. The mature and tranquil lake is superbly shaped with plenty of features, islands and bays. The depths vary from 1m to just over 3m (10ft), given the shape of the lake, all features are within casting distance. Stock: The stock of carp has been established for quite a few years now, to say that our field testers were pleased is an understatement! From what we have assessed there are plenty of fish varying from upper doubles to mid forties, many fish display deep bodies and awesome scale patterns. The carp are still very naïve so the techniques to be used remain quite simple. La Livardière is not just another French venue, it is a special place where you can really enjoy the fishing and relax.

Location: This private water in the South of France (1 h ? west of Toulouse) between the towns of Auch and Condom (no, it's not joke) in the Gers county.

Description: There is no public access to the lake. The lake is about 2.5 acres (1 hectare). The depth is between 1 to 6m. The bottom is silt clay. It may seem a long drive but it worth it as you will enjoy the South climate which means warm temperature early and late in the year. The easy solution is to fly down. The flights companies offers very cheap flights to Toulouse and Pau and as we propose you to provide you bait, tackle, you only need a bag of clothes and wash bag. Stock: It is stocked with carp up to 20kg+ (44lb+). The average is 8-12kg (17 – 26lb). There are also koi carp up to 15kg (33lb), grass carp up to 16-18kg (35- 39lb), sturgeon up to 20kg (44lb) and 20kg (44lb) mandarin catfish. The fishing is easy to moderate. The lake is only fished occasionally so there is not a lot of pressure. To put things into perspective, the resident owner & fisherman Simon Horton easily manages 3-4 thirties per afternoon just fishing with a couple of rods in the margins. Facilities: On site there is a mobile home with a small kitchen, a lounge, 1 bedroom with double bed and a smaller bedroom with 2 single beds suitable for children. Of course a toilet and shower are also present. Saucepans, cutlery, dishes, bed linen, and tea towel are provided.  Location: In March 2008, Iktus opened its carp section, a carp fishing centre located in the Laroin commune, near Pau, Southern France (Béarn, Atlantic Pirenees, 64).

Description: The Lake is situated near the trout reservoir. It has a surface of 35 hectares its depth varies between 1 and 10 m. The water is clean, very clear and is of a very high quality. The venue is about 40 years old and is stretched out over 1 kilometer. Weed Possible during summer months

 Stock: The carp stock varies between 6 and 25 kg and we expect some big surprises this year as carp can feed on a wide range of natural food. Fishing is only allowed from the banks, fixed swims, from March until November. There is neither crayfish nor catfish. In 2007 the owners restocked the lake with some extra, fast growing carp (4 to 8 kg). During the test session in October 2007 we were very surprised as we noticed that the same fish had almost doubled his weight in 6 months!

 Swims: There are a total of 13 double swims. In front of swim 6 you will find the deepest spots that are very interesting for sturgeon and big catfish. Swim 7 is very interesting because there lie a number of dead trees on the bottom of the lake; which doesn't make this swim an easy one. During the summer months there might be some weed in front of swims 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13. The weed grows near the banks, but sometimes there's some weed formation on deeper spots in swims 4 and 9. It's highly recommended to rent a boat to row out the rigs and to be sure they lie correctly.

 Facilities / Services: Our anglers are welcome in the club house every day from 9.00h. We have a small tackle shop in the mezzanine; the bar/restaurant has a nice terrace with fantastic views over the lake. There are two showers at the lake.

 There's a special carp angler cottage at the other side of the venue where you can prepare your food (micro wave over, fridge, congelator) and there is also a WC. There are little chalets for rent with 2 or 3 bedrooms - blankets are not available, you have to bring them. At Iktus you can hire a holiday home with 2 bedrooms, kitchen, living-room, terrace and balcony, plenty of space for the children to play, etc.

The bailiff Julien, a good carp angler, offers our clients all kinds of boilies (Fanatic baits), pellets, particles, etc. You can rent your tackle on the site, as well as boats (only the boats from Iktus are allowed, you can not bring your own boat). At Ikus they also offer a shuttle service from and to the local airport of Pau (operated by several low cost airlines, like Ryanair), situated at about 10 min from the lake.

Lac de Moisson

Location: Situated northwest of Paris (Department Yvelines)

Description: Lac de Moisson is a securely fenced venue with a 120 hectares lake. It’s a real specimen lake where several carp have surpassed the 30kg barrier. We wouldn’t recommend Lac the Moisson for beginners because it’s not an easy lake. People that have fished bigger lakes like Lac du Der, Orient or Cassien however, will enjoy fishing this lake.

Lake: With its 120 hectares, Lac the Moisson is, with La Horre, one of the bigger lakes in our offer. The venue is fringed by the River Seine, from which it formerly made part of. The lake is quite deep; maximum depth is 6 m. In fact, the level of the lake depends on the level of the River Seine.  When the water level is high, there is normally no weed formation. On the contrary, when the level is low, there might be some weed formation. This occurs towards the hotter summer months. The bottom is very irregular and is mostly hard with stones and sand. The depth maps we’ve made of the lake, show lots of hidden spots and a very interesting plateau in front of swims 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 about 200m from the bank.  The management of the site has integrated the different activities well with carp fishing. The sailing activities are restricted to the Eastern part of the lake.

 Swims: On the Southwest banks there are 11 well-spaced double swims, each at a distance of 100 m. All swims have vehicle access over a gravel path. Cars can be parked at the swim.

 Stock: Originally, Lac de Moisson had a relatively small fish stock from the River Seine. These fish grew strongly due to the presence of plenty of natural food like mussels and crayfish. Now, the lake is very well stocked with both mirrors and commons, ranging in size from doubles to 30kg+ with a very good population of fish over the 30lb mark.

 The bailiff advises tiger nuts, fish meal and blood boilies. If you don’t want to catch bream he suggests larger boilies and no ground baiting with pellets. While choosing your hook links, take into account the presence of freshwater mussels and the crayfish (use braid hook links).

Three natural streams come in the lake, which provide plenty of oxygen, even during the hottest summer months.The large, secure parking area just 15 yards from the lake provides plenty of parking space, and access all the way around the lake makes life that much easier for everyone. The owners are more than happy to help you bring your tackle to your swim.The bottom consists of silt with some sandy and stony patches. On average the lake is about 3-4 feet deep. The deepest area, which lies at the clubhouse, is around 12-14 feet deep.Swims: A graveled path connects the 18 swims around its perimeter. A maximum of 10 Anglers can fish the lake simultaneously. This means that every angler has about 4.2 acres at his disposal; this is a tremendous amount of water if you compare it to some lakes from our competitors…The graveled swims are clean and they don’t get muddy.Most of the swims are single swims, but for those who want to fish together, there are some larger double swims.Some swims are accessible by car, others aren’t. If you wish so, a member of the team (Steve or Brian) will help them to pack your things and boat them to the swim you have chosen. Very important: at Chateau Moulin it’s not possible to pre book a swim. At your arrival, you take a walk around the lake with the bailiff and you can pick your swim. The bailiff says the fish is everywhere and there is no constant swim. The fact that you can’t pre-book a swim has never been a problem, as there are 18 swims for only 10 anglers. During your stay you can move around a little if you wish to.Stock: Chateau Moulin has about 600 original carp (both common and mirror) living in the lake, which have reached considerable size. Their weight lies between 9 kg and 23,5 kg (2007 biggest fish); and the average weight is about 16 kg. Description: Has a stunning 14 acre lake with an island There are 10 swims some of which could easily be doubles for a maximum of 8 anglers. This gives anglers plenty of room with some swims having the option of fishing the island and others having plenty of open water with various features to each swim from the obvious margins to overhanging trees, the island, various bars and troughs, gravel, sand and silt pockets. Lake  & Stock: The lake was originally stocked with 170 carp in 2002. These fish were not fished for until September 2006 when I went there to do some test fishing. The fishing was obviously prolific with 50 fish averaging 21 pound caught in a short session of only fishing days. However, since then we have been piling the bait in including 1 ton of high protein carp pellet and the fish are growing very quickly with many of the original stock now being 28-30 pounds (January 2007). We have also added a  further 60 carp, the majority of which were 30+ including several 40’s up to a brace weighing 46-8 each (common and mirror). These are all farm bred fish and are expected to put weight on quickly once on the pellet and bait. There are no poisson chats or bream to our knowledge, however we have caught several roach and rudd over 3 pound on small baits. One catfish has been stocked at 72 pound and there are apparently 6 huge grass carp that have yet to show themselves. Facilities: There are English style toilets and shower facilities at one end of the lake with additional toilets for the swims that are away from the main toilet and shower block. Description: Is a beautiful 15 acre lake, set within 35 acres of private grounds in the Lorraine region of France, just 3 1/2 hours drive from Calais (A26, A4 to Verdun). It was originally dug in the 1920's as a gravel pit and is both mature and very well established. The lake is stream fed ensuring excellent water quality. Most swims can be accessed by car. Those that are not, we will transport your equipment to and from swims using our quadbike and trailer. The village is a 2 minute drive or a short walk from the lake. There is a supermarket, butcher, baker, tabac, post office bar and a small hotel.

 Stock: There is a good head of big carp with several known, including a dozen 40lb+ fish to 55lb, with the biggest at just over 60lb.

 Lake: Depths range from 3ft in the Margins, to 7ft in the main body of the lake. There are bars, troughs and an old stream bed in the lake. It has mostly a hard bottom with odd silt patches, no snags to worry about. There are 10 swims of which most are doubles. A maximum of 8 anglers on the lake at any one time, including exclusive bookings. There are no poisson chat. There are no adjacent neighbours and the lake is set well back from the road, so is not overlooked by anybody.

 Facilities: At the lake are excellent. We have running water and clean English flushing toilets at either end of the lake. Freezers are provided for anglers bait and bait boat charging facilities are available. Onsite bailiff 24/7 to assist. We can provide sleeping accommodation for up to 6 anglers (4 singles, 1 double) in the lakeside house at an extra cost per room

You fly into Nice airport with one of the cheapy airlines (Easyjet and BMI fly to Nice from the UK for less than a hundred quid) and we'll pick you up from the airport and take you to our base 10 minutes from the lake. From there we'll kit you out, point you in the right direction, and get you fishing. French rules only allow fishing from dawn until dusk but this is often the most productive time especially though the holiday season.

You stay on a fantastic camp site a few minutes away from Cassien and we take you down to the lake and bring you back every day.

Included in the price is tented accommodation but you can upgrade to either a mobile home or a chalet for a small charge should you so wish. A lot of guys like to bring their wives' or girlfriends with them and we would suggest an upgrade in this circumstance for extra privacy.

The Site has a fantastic pool and restaurant area where you can chill out if you don't want to fish all day, and there is always the opportunity of a trip out to the beach to either Nice or Cannes, or alternatively if you fancy a bit of action then you can visit the local water park.

All of our equipment is exactly what you need to fish Cassien so there is no need to bring anything with you other than reels, buzzers and your terminal tackle box.
