Windmill Lake Fishery

Welcome to Windmill Lakes There are 2 four acre lakes at Windmill situated between the historical cities of Laval and Le Mans, just 2½ to 4½ hours from the ports of Caen and Calais. The dedicated Carp Lake has Mirrors, Commons and Grass Carp to 45lb+ and the Catfish Lake combines “runs” water with the adventure of big Catfish to 75lb+ and counting. We have an lakeside Alpine Chalet situated just 15 metres from the banks of the Carp Lake, so you can enjoy the beautiful views of the whole venue whilst enjoying a beer on the veranda.

Windmill Lakes Chalet
ALPINE CHALET In 2008 we added the Alpine Chalet, situated approximately 15 metres from the banks of the Carp Lake overlooking the whole venue. There are 3 beds including a small double, a bunk bed and a single, all with bedding supplied, also a table & chairs, sink, gas hob and fridge, 12 volt electricity and pumped water.

The veranda is the perfect place for the non-angler to relax with a cold drink and take in the peace and beauty of the surroundings.

Windmill Lakes Stock

Original stocked in 2003

The “Carp Lake” was stocked in January 2004 with Mirror, Common and Grass Carp to 40 lbs +. This lake is now enjoying great success; the fish are established and growing fast.

“Catfish Lake”. This is in addition to the original stocking of 200 smaller carp in 2003 and the larger carp to 30 lbs+ and 18 Catfish to 42 lbs stocked in January 2006.

Etang de Planchon Fishery
152 “Never Before Caught” Carp! Etang De Planchon - THE CARPING VENUE of 2011. Opening for its first season in March 2011, available to take bookings NOW. Etang de Planchon is a friendly carp fishing destination within the Haute Vienne region of France, near the lovely market town of Chateauponsac which has bars, restaurants and shops and is 30 minutes away from Limoges Airport.

This beautiful four acre lake is set in a ten acre estate and is a secluded and secure venue which caters for a maximum of five anglers per week, licensed for day and night fishing where no permits are required.

Gite Accommodation If you do not wish to “bivvy up” or if you choose to bring your partner, family or friends why not stay in our fully furnished Gite.

If you are fishing the Lake for the week you will get a 20% discount off the Gite hire price.

The Gite comprises of a lounge, a fully fitted kitchen, two double bedrooms with the bathroom and toilet situated in the main double bedroom.

Les Rivets Carp Fishery
Look no further, at Les Rivets you will discover an extra special fishery and experience some outstanding fishing. Our 9 acre lake is near to the town of St Fargeau in the Yonne district and has a large stock of Carp. Over 300 Carp have been stocked in Jan 2009 to 47lbs. See our Stock tab for more details. Les Rivets Accommodation
Grounds:The patio is over 80 sq meters and contains a BBQ and large table with ten chairs. Half the patio area is covered by an electric blind. The house to the lake is only 50 meters and has mowed grass around it to about 300 meters. There are 6 acres of forest with a walk path and rest of the grounds are cut grass. The swimming pool is heated to 26 to 28c and there are six sun loungers for sun bathing.

Fishing at Les Rivets
The stocking of the lake happened on the 29th January 2009 with over 300 Carp with their total weight of 2935 kg’s. These Carp are French Royals and have been chosen for their tone and colouring, using this strain we can expect fish under 40lbs to increase in weight by over 5lb's a year, the large fish will have a smaller growth rate but hopefully there will be a high 50 or even a 60lb fish in the fishery within the first 3 years.
